FALL RIVER — It has been a fun summer to remember for the Maplewood 9U All-Star youth baseball team. First, the Fall-River-based green and gold team captured the District 5 title to advance to the Eastern Massachusetts state tournament in Lowell. Now, chalk up another one for youthful Maplewood squad. The 9U team recently won five games, including the title game against Middleboro in dominating fashion to win the Taunton Silver City slugfest tournament. During the five games, Maplewood outscored its opponents, 80-14.
