(File photo) (Caren Lissner/Patch)MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The Maplewood Police asked drivers to avoid a section of road in Maplewood during rush hour "due to a small, emerging sinkhole," they said in an alert shortly before 5:30 p.m.Police said to avoid the north side of Rutgers Street at Springfield Avenue (see map here), which was partially closed. PSEG has been notified, police said. "Please utilize an alternate route," they said.
