Crime & Safety Emergency services evaluated two students after "multiple fights" broke out following a high school sports game in Maplewood. MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Maplewood police released a statement on Wednesday after responding Tuesday night to "multiple fights" after a school basketball game, they said. Police said that the game — hosted at Columbia High School, which draws students from Maplewood and South Orange, was played against Irvington High School. "At the conclusion," said Det. Sgt. Scott Reeves of the Community Service Bureau, "a large group of over a hundred exited the gym.
