A serial franchisee who brought international Korean-style fried chicken chain Bonchon to the Twin Cities is doing the same with a Chicago-based bubble tea and dessert cafe chain. By late 2024, Sam Zheng plans to open five to eight Te'amo Boba Bar locations in Minnesota, primarily in the metro area, starting with an initial store in Coon Rapids shopping center Riverdale Commons. Another will be included in the food hall of the Pacifica development at Burnsville Center. Zheng was represented in lease negotiations by broker Marshall Nguyen, vice president of Edina-based Caspian Group, who will help Zheng secure additional properties for Te'amo, as he's done for Zheng with Bonchon.
